X2M and Resi Ventures Collaborate on Data Centre Development in Regional Australia
X2M Connect teams up with Resi Ventures to establish data centre and energy infrastructure in regional Australia, starting with MRREIP near Ballarat. This initiative aims to enhance energy management and connectivity in underserved areas, addressing increasing demand driven by AI technologies.

X2M Connect has partnered with Resi Ventures to develop data centre and energy infrastructure precincts in regional Australia, beginning with the Miners Rest Renewable Energy Integration Precinct (MRREIP) near Ballarat, Victoria. The MRREIP will feature a data centre with a capacity of 10MW to 100MW, a battery energy storage system, electric vehicle charging, an anaerobic biodigester, and renewable energy connections.
The project is part of a five-year agreement aimed at expanding across various Australian locations and will require regulatory approvals. This collaboration addresses the growing energy management challenges in data centres, especially as AI-driven demand rises. The initiative also seeks to improve socio-economic conditions in regional communities.
