X2M Connect has launched a subsidiary named X2MDC to focus on delivering high-density GPU-accelerated data centers, with a project pipeline potentially reaching 150MW. Recently, X2M signed a binding agreement to construct an AI-enabled data center, estimated to cost over AU$250 million (~US$180 million), with completion expected in three to five years.
The subsidiary will offer Platform Services and Managed Delivery, covering design through operational phases. This contract represents the first project under X2MDC and is set to contribute to the anticipated demand for data centers in Australia, projected to grow from 1.5GW in 2025 to 5GW by 2030, requiring approximately AU$190 billion (~US$135 billion) in investment. X2M's operations will predominantly target Queensland, with facilities planned to range from 1MW to the total pipeline goal of 150MW.
