Xanadu and Oak Ridge National Laboratory Enhance Quantum Programming on Frontier Supercomputer
Xanadu and Oak Ridge National Laboratory have integrated PennyLane with the Frontier supercomputer, enhancing quantum simulation capabilities. This collaboration supports the development of larger quantum programs, leveraging exascale computing to tackle complex problems.

Xanadu Quantum Technologies Ltd. and Oak Ridge National Laboratory have partnered to utilize the Frontier supercomputer for quantum programming using Xanadu's PennyLane software. This integration allows researchers within the Oak Ridge Leadership Facility community to execute quantum programs directly on Frontier, which is powered by AMD CPUs and GPUs, enhancing simulation capabilities for large-scale quantum computing.
The addition of Message Passing Interface (MPI) with PennyLane enables efficient communication across computational nodes, reducing runtimes and allowing for innovative approaches in quantum simulation. A recent workshop facilitated knowledge transfer on using PennyLane with Frontier's capabilities. This collaboration signifies a step forward in quantum applications development, with implications for future fault-tolerant quantum computing.
