XCharge North America and Energy Plus to Build Major Battery-Backed EV Charging Depot in Brooklyn, New York
XCharge North America has partnered with Energy Plus to establish one of the largest battery-backed EV charging depots in the U.S., located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, set to launch in Q2 2026. The site will feature 44 GridLink units with 9.46 MWh energy storage capacity and accommodate 88 parking spaces.
Operated under Energy Plus' Eplug brand, the facility is designed for urban environments, enhancing energy resiliency by utilizing off-peak energy. This collaboration aims to support New York City's energy priorities by providing decentralized power, increasing local infrastructure resilience, and lowering electricity costs. Energy Plus plans to replicate this model in other U.S. cities, with a focus on predictable operations and a customer-friendly experience.
