Xiaomi Releases MiMo-V2.5 and MiMo-V2.5-Pro as Open Source under MIT License
Xiaomi has launched MiMo-V2.5 and MiMo-V2.5-Pro as open-source models, enabling commercial use without restrictions. This move poses competitive pressure on existing AI providers like OpenAI and Anthropic, offering an alternative for startups.

Xiaomi's MiMo-V2.5-Pro features 1,020 billion parameters and supports 42 billion concurrently, with a context window of one million tokens. The standard V2.5 model is designed for cost-effective inference.
The MIT license allows organizations to commercially deploy, fine-tune, and redistribute the models without revenue caps or user limits. While this offers a competitive edge against proprietary models from Western companies, the infrastructure requirements for running such a large model are significant.
AMD's Day 0 support for Instinct suggests a focus on data center deployments. However, concerns remain regarding the real-world performance of Chinese benchmarks.
