Xpeng to Launch Six-Wheel Minivan with Integrated eVTOL Aircraft in 2025

ADVANCED AIR MOBILITY (AAM) / NEXT-GEN AVIATION

Xpeng has developed a six-wheel minivan, the Land Aircraft Carrier, designed to transport and house its electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Deliveries are expected later this year through Xpeng's Aridge division.

The vehicle, approximately 5.5 meters long and 2 meters wide, will have a starting price of around 2 million yuan ($287,000). Production will begin in Guangzhou with an initial output of 5,000 units per year, aiming to increase to 10,000.

It will run on an 800-volt electrical system with a targeted driving range of over 620 miles (1,000 kilometers). The van's trunk will also function as a charging station for the eVTOL, which is made from carbon fiber and has six rotors. Despite receiving local airworthiness certification, the eVTOL's confidence may be impacted by a previous accident involving two prototypes.
