Xscape Photonics Launches FalconX Laser Interconnect After $37M Funding Round
Xscape Photonics has raised $37 million in Series A funding, totaling $81 million, to launch FalconX, a laser-based optical interconnect for AI data centers. The device enables high-capacity data transmission using silicon photonics, addressing bandwidth limitations of traditional copper interconnects. The technology, capable of emitting eight wavelengths simultaneously, aims to enhance GPU performance in AI workloads and is part of a roadmap to develop interconnects with up to 128 wavelengths. Key investors include Addition and Nvidia.

Xscape Photonics has secured $37 million in funding, raising its total Series A investment to $81 million and nearly $95 million in total since its launch. The funding was led by Addition and supports the launch of FalconX, a laser optical interconnect designed for AI data centers.
FalconX utilizes silicon photonics to transmit data at high speeds and can emit eight wavelengths simultaneously, overcoming limitations of existing copper-based interconnects. The company plans to scale its technology to support up to 128 wavelengths. Founded in 2022, Xscape aims to address the increasing bandwidth demands of AI workloads, which have grown significantly in recent years.
