Yakouba Kourouma Appointed Economic and Tax Advisor to Guinea's Ministry of Mines
Yakouba Kourouma, known as the 'Mozart of Guinea's mining taxation,' has been appointed as the Economic and Tax Advisor at the Ministry of Mines since January 2022. His work focuses on reforming the mining tax framework, including establishing a reference price for bauxite to increase state revenues, projected to generate an additional $1 billion in bauxite revenues. Kourouma's background includes significant experience in the mining sector, advanced studies in Canada, and international consulting roles, positioning him as a key figure in transforming Guinea's mining fiscal policies.
