YESS Power Integrates 30 MW Battery System with Novaci Solar Plant in North Macedonia
YESS Power has commissioned North Macedonia's first large-scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) in collaboration with Cubenergy and investor Mey Energy. The 30 MW battery system, with a capacity of 60 MWh, is integrated with Mey Energy's 55 MW Novaci solar power plant, which generates 85 GWh annually. This project marks a significant step in the region's energy transition and supports North Macedonia's endorsement of 77 additional battery projects valued at EUR 1.98 billion.

YESS Power, in partnership with Cubenergy and Mey Energy, has launched North Macedonia's first large-scale solar and battery storage project. The 30 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) is co-located with the 55 MW Novaci solar power plant, which generates 85 GWh per year.
This initiative signifies a shift towards more sustainable energy in the Western Balkans, particularly as it is located near coal industry operations. North Macedonia has approved 77 additional projects for co-located batteries, with an estimated combined capacity of over 2 GW and nearly 5 GWh of storage, valued at EUR 1.98 billion.
