Yibin, Sichuan plans to establish a power battery industry cluster with a target output value of 300 billion yuan by 2030. This initiative is expected to enhance the city's role in the global battery market significantly.

Yibin, Sichuan, is focused on developing a power battery industry cluster, with a target annual production value of over 300 billion yuan ($44.4 billion) by 2030. Currently, the city's power battery production capacity is 240 gigawatt-hours, making up 10% of the global total.
Investment from Contemporary Amperex Technology has catalyzed this growth, attracting over 100 related projects. Yibin plans to enhance its technology capabilities by advancing next-generation battery technologies and promoting semi-solid-state and all-solid-state batteries. Additionally, the city will establish a regional battery recycling center to support a circular economy, targeting applications beyond electric vehicles, including heavy-duty trucks and low-altitude aircraft.
