Ynsect Site in Amiens Approved for 700 MW Data Center Connection
The former Ynsect site in Poulainville, Amiens, is set for reconversion to host a large-scale data center, benefiting from a 700 MW power connection under the Fast Track scheme. This move is pivotal for attracting investments in the energy-intensive data sector in the region.

The former Ynsect facility in Poulainville, Amiens, has been designated as a 'strategic economic land' by the state, allowing a power connection of up to 700 MW through the Fast Track initiative. This recognition is expected to facilitate the establishment of an energy-intensive project, likely a data center, following the liquidation of Ynsect in December 2025.
The prefecture of the Somme, along with the Banque des Territoires and RTE, has stated that the economic reconversion of the site is progressing, with an official announcement anticipated in the coming months. The potential data center could attract significant investment and create numerous jobs, aligning with the region's ambition to advance in artificial intelligence technologies.
