Yorkville City Council to Vote on $91 Million Data Center Agreements
Yorkville City Council will vote on agreements related to two data center projects, Cardinal and Steel, potentially bringing $91 million to the city. The largest portion, $68 million, will support Yorkville Community Unit School District 115's facilities plan. Project Cardinal will contribute $51 million, while Project Steel will provide $40 million, with the district agreeing to abate some property taxes in exchange for upfront payments.

The Yorkville City Council is set to vote on agreements concerning two data center projects, Cardinal and Steel, which could yield $91 million for the city and local organizations. Yorkville Community Unit School District 115 would receive the largest share, totaling $68 million, as part of a facilities plan.
Project Cardinal is responsible for $51 million of this, while Project Steel is committing $40 million. In return, the district will abate some property taxes for the data centers. Project Cardinal has already received initial city council approval, while Tuesday's meeting will be a formal vote for Project Steel.
