Yorkville Commission Rejects Green Door Capital's Data Center Rezoning Proposal
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
The Yorkville Planning and Zoning Commission voted against a rezoning request by Green Door Capital for 91 acres near Caledonia for a data center. The proposal also included 39 acres for agricultural zoning.
Residents opposed the data center, citing concerns for small businesses. The commission stated the petition did not meet city standards. The decision will proceed to the Yorkville City Council, which may override the commission's recommendation. The city has already approved or proposed thousands of acres for data center development.
