Zaheerabad Industrial City Operations Launch After 13-Year Delay
Zaheerabad's Smart Integrated Industrial City (SIIC) has officially begun operations following a 13-year development period. The project, part of the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ), has secured over ₹14,000 crore in investments from Hyundai, Triton Electric, and VEM Technologies, generating significant employment opportunities.

The Smart Integrated Industrial City (SIIC) in Zaheerabad has commenced operations after 13 years of development. Key investments include ₹8,528 crore from Hyundai for a Global Innovation R&D Centre, over ₹3,500 crore from Triton Electric for lithium-ion battery manufacturing, and more than ₹2,200 crore from VEM Technologies for precision engineering components.
The project spans 12,635 acres, with the first phase covering 3,245 acres approved jointly by the Centre and Telangana, costing ₹2,369 crore. Expected outcomes include 2.5 lakh direct and 5 lakh indirect jobs across various sectors. As farming activity is to cease post-Rabi season, development efforts are being closely monitored by local officials.
