Zambia Advances 244MW Kalungwishi Hydropower Project for Industrial Development
The Zambian government is progressing on the 244MW Kalungwishi Hydropower Project aimed at enhancing energy infrastructure in Luapula Province. This initiative is expected to attract investment, generate employment, and stimulate industrial growth in the region.

The Zambian government is set to advance the 244 megawatt Kalungwishi Hydropower Project, which is anticipated to boost energy supply and enhance industrial development in Luapula Province. Acting Permanent Secretary Evans Sikabbubba emphasized that the project is a critical component of the government's strategy to improve local economic conditions and promote community development.
Preparatory works, including feasibility studies, have been completed, and private sector participation is encouraged to expedite implementation. The project is expected to address longstanding power supply issues that have hindered economic growth in the region, particularly in agriculture and industry, positioning Luapula as a new hub for investment.
