Zambia and Huawei Forge Partnership for AI and Cloud Integration in Government
Zambia's agreement with Huawei aims to implement AI and cloud solutions in public services, enhancing digital transformation. This initiative includes a national AI data center and training for 5,000 ICT professionals by 2028.

Zambia has partnered with Huawei to integrate AI and cloud technologies into its public sector, aiming to enhance e-government services. The memorandum of understanding, signed during the Zambia Mobile Congress 2026, includes plans for a national AI data center and training for 5,000 ICT professionals by 2028.
This collaboration supports Zambia's Digital Acceleration Program, which also focuses on deploying 2,000 kilometers of fiber-optic infrastructure and issuing four million digital identities by 2031. The government has allocated 225 million kwachas for telecommunications improvements, which align with its objectives for technological advancement and public service efficiency. This partnership may accelerate Zambia's competitiveness in the digital economy.
