Zaya Younan, Founder and Chairman of Younan Company, has announced a large-scale solar and battery storage project in California under Soleil Renewable Energy, LLC. This facility, located in East Kern County, aims to be among the top five largest solar power plants in California.

It will cover approximately 3,200 acres and is designed to generate 880 MWdc (700 MWac) of solar power alongside a 460 MW battery storage system. The project is expected to produce about 1,900-2,000 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually, with an estimated $100 million in gross revenue.

It has achieved critical milestones, including land acquisition and interconnection processes with the California Independent System Operator and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Commercial operations are targeted for mid-2028, with the facility becoming shovel-ready within 18 months, aligning with California's carbon-free electricity mandate.
