Zephalto's Altaïr Capsule Set for Stratospheric Tourism Launch by 2027
Zephalto is preparing to offer stratospheric travel aboard its Altaïr capsule, with first commercial flights anticipated in 2027. This initiative represents a significant advance in space tourism, targeting a market of private individuals willing to invest €180,000 for a six-hour journey.

The Altaïr capsule, measuring 5.5 m long and 2.7 m wide, will carry four passengers and a pilot to an altitude of 25 kilometers. It is designed to be environmentally friendly, utilizing green hydrogen sourced mainly from Occitanie.
Zephalto's first test flights are scheduled for summer 2026, aiming for operational flights in early 2027, with over 100 interested customers already placing deposits. The company has invested €8 million to date and anticipates an additional €20 million for industrial scaling and balloon production. Partnerships with the Occitanie region and the National Centre for Space Studies (Cnes) support this venture, which also aims to facilitate scientific missions.
