ZESCO Limited reports that it has met its internal target to enhance electricity supply by December, attributing this to increased generation, improved load management, and better system coordination. This achievement follows a period of constrained power availability due to low water levels at hydropower stations and heightened demand.

The December target was part of an operational plan aimed at reducing load shedding and restoring reliability. Measures included power imports and short-term generation support to address supply gaps. ZESCO also implemented system efficiency improvements and better dispatch planning.

While the utility acknowledges that challenges related to grid stability and localized outages persist, it emphasizes ongoing investments in generation diversification and infrastructure upgrades to mitigate future vulnerabilities. ZESCO's focus will now shift to maintaining stability and advancing long-term projects to strengthen the power system.
