ZF India Secures Multi-Year Supply Deal for AxTrax 2 LF Electric Axle for Buses
ZF India has been awarded a contract to supply its AxTrax 2 LF electric portal axle to an Indian OEM, with deliveries starting in 2026. This marks the introduction of India's first fully integrated low-floor electric axle for city buses, designed for both domestic and export markets. The axle will be used in 18-metre articulated and 11-metre city buses, featuring two power variants and advanced thermal management systems. The supply agreement covers several thousand units under a long-term program.

ZF India has secured a multi-year supply deal with an Indian OEM for its AxTrax 2 LF electric portal axle, slated for delivery starting in 2026. The axle, intended for 18-metre articulated and 11-metre city buses, is described as India's first fully integrated low-floor e-axle.
It will replace traditional engine and transmission systems and supports configurations for battery-electric, hydrogen fuel cell, and trolley buses. The AxTrax 2 LF offers two power options, with peak torque up to 36,800 Nm and includes features like regenerative braking and over-the-air update readiness. Deliveries will cater to both domestic and export markets.
