Zijin Mining Prioritizes La Arena and Río Blanco Projects in Peru with $10 Billion Investment Strategy
Zijin Mining plans to invest over $10 billion in Latin America, focusing on La Arena and Río Blanco in Peru. The company aims to enhance its strategic metal supply chain, targeting a 20-year extension for La Arena's operational life through a $1.5 billion project.

Zijin Mining is concentrating on La Arena and Río Blanco in Peru as part of a broader $10 billion investment strategy in Latin America. The La Arena project, which features a heap leaching operation for oxidized gold, is set to extend its operational life by 20 years with the $1.5 billion La Arena Sulfuros initiative, currently in the design phase.
Concurrently, Zijin is pursuing the Río Blanco project, a significant untapped copper deposit in northern Peru, with an estimated investment of $2.5 billion. These initiatives align with Zijin's strategy to secure critical resources for energy transition and diversify its operations across more than 18 countries.
