ZTE Corp Advances 6G Transport Standards and AI All-Optical Networks
ZTE Corp has made significant advancements in telecommunications infrastructure, focusing on 6G transport technology and AI-driven all-optical networks. In December 2025, ZTE achieved the approval of the 800G Metro Transport Network (MTN) standard, recognized as the first international standard for 6G transmission, alongside partners China Mobile, State Grid, and China Southern Power Grid.
ZTE's Slicing Packet Network combines Time Division Multiplexing with packet statistical multiplexing, supporting the high-security needs of sectors like power grids. The company contributed to the MTN standard system framework, releasing standard G.8312.20 Amd2, which enhances customer service specifications.
ZTE also introduced the G.Sup92 standard for data center synchronization. Additionally, ZTE initiated the Transport Application Programming Interface (TAPI) standard to improve interoperability in Software Defined Networks, successfully testing it with China Unicom. These developments position ZTE as a leader in the transition from 5G to 6G and foster digital transformation.
