1001st Infantry Brigade Takes Over Security in Davao Oriental from 701st Infantry Brigade
The 1001st Infantry Brigade has officially taken over security responsibilities in Davao Oriental from the 701st Infantry Brigade as of December 1, 2025. BGen. Vince James D. Bantillan announced the transition, emphasizing the 1001st IB's commitment to maintaining the province's insurgency-free status and enhancing military operations in collaboration with local government units to prevent the resurgence of communist terrorist groups.

Effective December 1, 2025, the 1001st Infantry Brigade has assumed responsibility for Davao Oriental, following the redeployment of the 701st Infantry Brigade back to the 7th Infantry Division. BGen. Vince James D.
Bantillan announced the change during a press conference, clarifying that while the headquarters of the 701st IB has been redeployed, its operating battalions remain in their areas under operational control. Bantillan highlighted the 701st IB's success in maintaining the province's insurgency-free status and stated that the 1001st IB will continue to support peace and development initiatives in collaboration with local government units. The brigade aims to prevent the resurgence of communist terrorist groups and will enhance military operations and emergency response capabilities in the province, ensuring stability and security.
