11th Attack Squadron Transitions to Combat Operations Under 25th Attack Wing
On October 13, 2025, the 11th Attack Squadron transitioned from a training unit to combat operations under the newly re-designated 25th Attack Wing, now solely focused on MQ-9 missions. This shift, supported by the introduction of Automatic Takeoff and Landing Capability and extensive training, allows the squadron to operate 24/7 with sortie durations exceeding 20 hours. The relocation of seven ground control stations from Shaw Air Force Base to Creech Air Force Base further enhances mission execution capabilities.

On October 13, 2025, the 11th Attack Squadron (ATKS) transitioned from a training unit to combat operations, now executing all phases of the MQ-9 mission via SATCOM controls. This change follows the introduction of the Automatic Takeoff and Landing Capability (ATLC) and extensive training efforts.
The 25th Attack Group was re-designated as the 25th Attack Wing (ATKW) and now solely operates MQ-9 missions for the U.S. Air Force. In preparation, 7 ground control stations were relocated from Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., to Creech Air Force Base, Nev.
The squadron has expanded its operations to 24/7/365, significantly increasing sortie durations to over 20 hours. The 11th ATKS, originally activated in July 1995 as the 11th Reconnaissance Squadron, has evolved to manage comprehensive training and mission execution within a unified framework.
