127 MoUs Signed at Tamil Nadu Global Tourism Summit 2026, Committing Rs 22,794.78 Crores Investment

At the Tamil Nadu Global Tourism Summit 2026, 127 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed, committing an investment of Rs 22,794.78 crores. These agreements are expected to create 65,937 jobs in various tourism sectors including Traditional, Adventure, MICE, and Environment Tourism.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin inaugurated the summit and awarded Rs one lakh to the top three winners of the Tourism Innovation Hackathon, which focused on topics such as Culinary and Medical Tourism. The winners included Xera Robotics Private Limited, Thaizhnilam Tamizhpannai, and Ortus India. Additionally, Stalin inaugurated three completed tourism projects in Mayiladuthurai, Cuddalore, and Chengalpattu districts, costing Rs 40.25 crore, and laid foundation stones for two new projects in Mayiladuthurai district with a budget of Rs 8 crores.
