$2.3 Billion Quynh Lap LNG Plant Groundbreaking Set for Mid-May
The Quynh Lap LNG thermal power plant project, valued at $2.3 billion, is set to commence between May 12-15, 2026. This initiative is crucial for enhancing energy security and supporting socio-economic growth in the Nghe An region.

The Quynh Lap LNG plant, designed for a capacity of 1,500 MW, will feature two combined-cycle gas turbine units and an LNG storage facility of approximately 250,000 cubic meters. The project also includes a dedicated port for vessels up to 150,000 tons and a regasification system.
Compensation for landowners has been finalized, with the land transfer completed on April 8, 2026. Infrastructure investments for connecting roads and power lines are under consideration, with a focus on aligning with project timelines. The project's successful implementation is essential for regional energy security and economic development.
