2,548 Indigenous Individuals in Davao Occidental Receive Healthcare Services Through Community Caravan

A total of 2,548 individuals from indigenous cultural communities in Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental, benefitted from a community caravan organized by the Regional Inter-Agency Committee on Indigenous Peoples' Health (RIAC-IPH)-Davao. The four-day Community Outreach and Immersion Activities (COIA) provided essential healthcare services, including minor surgical procedures, consultations in various medical fields, blood sugar testing, and mobility aids for persons with disabilities.

Key agencies involved included the Department of Health-Davao, Southern Philippines Medical Center, Davao Regional Medical Center, and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples. The Philippine Army's 73rd Infantry Battalion assisted with logistics and security, while other agencies like PhilHealth and the Department of Social Welfare and Development shared their programs during the event held in Barangay South Lamidan.
