41 Potable Water Projects Implemented in Southern Region, Eritrea
In the Southern Region of Eritrea, 41 potable water projects were implemented from 2021 to 2025, benefiting over 100,000 residents with an investment exceeding 84 million Nakfa. The initiatives, which included solar energy systems and water distribution infrastructure, were funded 60% by the government, alongside community contributions. Additionally, over 200 projects underwent renovation, and water management training was provided to enhance local capabilities.

In the Southern Region of Eritrea, 41 potable water projects worth over 84 million Nakfa were implemented between 2021 and 2025, benefiting over 100,000 people. The projects included solar energy systems, water distribution centers, reservoirs, and pipelines.
The Government covered 60% of expenses, with community support. Renovation work on over 200 projects and water management training were also conducted. Currently, there are 50 solar-powered, 23 hand pump, and 5 generator-operated water projects in the region.
