433rd Maintenance Group Completes First GE F-138 Jet Engine Replacement for C-5M Super Galaxy
The 433rd Maintenance Group successfully completed its first General Electric F-138 jet engine replacement for the C-5M Super Galaxy, marking a significant milestone since transitioning to the C-5M model in 2016. Reserve Citizen Airmen from the 433rd Maintenance Group replaced a General Electric F-138 jet engine for the C-5M Super Galaxy between June 24 and July 3. The operation involved multiple squadrons and specialties, requiring coordination to safely disconnect the old engine and install the new one.
