In Tanjay City, Negros Oriental, 152 individuals from 45 families have returned home after weekend clashes between the Philippine Army and the New People's Army (NPA). Brig. Gen.
Jason Jumawan confirmed to Mayor Pepe Orlino that the encounter sites are distant from populated areas. By Wednesday, no evacuees were left at the shelter used during the skirmishes. Assistance, including food, medicines, and psychosocial support, was provided to the displaced persons.
Military operations are ongoing to track down NPA remnants after four gunfights occurred, resulting in one soldier's death and another's injury. Residents had reported armed groups attempting recruitment activities.
