The 53rd Infantry Battalion (53IB) is deploying Mobile Community Support and Sustainment Teams (MCSST) to enhance development in Community Support Program (CSP) cleared villages in Zamboanga del Sur. The ceremonial send-off occurred on March 13, 2026, at the battalion headquarters in Guipos.

This initiative is part of the Army's efforts to maintain peace and development in areas previously affected by the Communist Terrorist Group. The MCSSTs will collaborate with local governments and community leaders to strengthen the government presence, address community concerns, and facilitate the delivery of basic services.
