56th Stryker Brigade Transitions to Mobile Brigade Combat Team
The 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team is now the 56th Mobile Brigade Combat Team as of March 31, 2026. This conversion aligns with the Army's 2025 initiative to adapt its force structure for modern combat, emphasizing mobility and flexibility.

As of March 31, 2026, the 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team has officially transitioned to the 56th Mobile Brigade Combat Team (MBCT). This change, part of a broader Army transformation plan initiated in 2025, involves a shift from using Stryker vehicles to Infantry Squad Vehicles (ISVs), with ISVs expected to be fully integrated by 2027.
The conversion includes the deactivation of the 103rd Brigade Engineer Battalion and the 2nd Squadron, 104th Cavalry Regiment, while new units such as a reconnaissance company and military intelligence company will be activated. The benefits of this transition include improved survivability, situational awareness, and reduced logistics footprint, addressing modern warfare demands.
