6K Energy and CRG Defense have announced a seven-year collaboration aimed at building a secure U.S. battery supply chain for defense applications. The agreement focuses on the domestic sourcing of cathode active materials (CAM) to support next-generation battery technologies. 6K Energy will provide CRG Defense with NMC811 cathode material, with additional capacity expected by late 2026.
This partnership aligns with recent U.S. regulations prohibiting foreign components in defense systems, heightening the demand for domestic solutions. The collaboration is positioned to foster a resilient U.S. battery infrastructure essential for mission-critical programs.
