955 Families in Maracaibo Gain Access to Piped Methane Gas

NATURAL GAS

On January 23, 955 families in the Primero de Marzo neighborhood of San Francisco municipality, Maracaibo, accessed piped methane gas for the first time in 38 years. This was achieved through a community project approved in 2025, financed, and executed by Pdvsa Gas, the San Francisco Municipal Public Institute of Gas (Ipmgas), and the Gas Secretariat of the Zulia State Government.

The project involved installing 6.5 kilometers of distribution lines and 4.5 connection lines per home, linking 675 homes to the gas service network. Local officials, including Governor Luis Caldera and Mayor Héctor Soto, emphasized ongoing support for community projects under the guidance of President Nicolás Maduro. Community leader José Luis González noted the significance of government intervention in local needs.
