ABB Robotics has launched the OmniVance Collaborative Surface Finishing Cell, designed to automate grinding and polishing processes for small and medium-sized enterprises. This fully automated system addresses the challenges posed by labor shortages, with projections indicating 1.9 million manufacturing positions may remain unfilled by 2033.
The cell features a collaborative 'GoFa' robot and is delivered as a plug-and-play solution, requiring no additional technical adjustments for operation. Its adaptability allows for easy integration of new tools and accessories, enhancing production efficiency while reducing waste and rework costs. The system also includes integrated dust extraction to improve working conditions and product quality, allowing skilled workers to focus on higher-value tasks.
