ACCIONA Energía has commenced electricity supply from its Logrosán biomass power plant in Cáceres, Spain, with a capacity of 50 MWe and an annual generation of 380 GWh of renewable energy. The plant was constructed under a contract with the Ministry for Ecological Transition, ensuring a 20-year electricity sale price.

It will consume approximately 275,000 tonnes of biomass annually, primarily from forestry waste, aiding forest management and reducing wildfire risks. The construction created over 400 jobs, and around 30 operational jobs will be supported, along with 900 contractors involved in the value chain.
