DEFENSE

ACMI has commenced construction on a National Security Industrial Hub at Crane Naval Base in Bloomfield, Indiana, supported by a $75 million Department of Defense award. The campus, spanning over 1,100 acres, is designed to facilitate defense manufacturers with shared facilities and specialized equipment, lowering production costs and timelines for military technology.

The project is projected to attract approximately $600 million in private investment and generate thousands of high-paying jobs. Key partnerships with Indiana University, Purdue University, and the University of Southern Indiana will enhance workforce training for high-tech positions. The hub aims to address domestic production capacity challenges in defense technologies, with initial operations expected by 2027.
