Adani Power Establishes New Subsidiary for Nuclear Energy Operations
Adani Power has created Rawatbhata-Raj Atomic Energy Limited to expand into nuclear energy generation and distribution. This move aligns with India's goal of achieving 100 GW of nuclear capacity by 2047, encouraging private sector involvement.

Adani Power has formed a new subsidiary, Rawatbhata-Raj Atomic Energy Limited (RRAEL), on April 20, 2026, under its wholly-owned subsidiary, Adani Atomic Energy Limited (AAEL). RRAEL's focus will be on the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity from nuclear sources.
India's current nuclear energy capacity is approximately 8-9 GW, with the government targeting 100 GW by 2047. Other private companies like Tata Power and Naveen Jindal Group are also exploring investments in the nuclear sector, which indicates a growing trend towards private participation in this area.
