Advancements in Perovskite Solar Modules Achieve High Efficiency and Stability
Research led by Nanjing University has developed large-area perovskite solar modules achieving up to 24.0% efficiency. This innovation addresses key challenges in scaling solar cell technology for industrial production.

Nanjing University, in collaboration with academic and industrial partners, has produced large-area photovoltaic modules with certified efficiencies up to 24.0% on 810 cm² and 22.0% on 0.72 m². The research involved using chemically stable lead carboxylates to treat the perovskite surface, enhancing charge carrier transport and surface passivation.
This methodology allows production in ambient conditions, reducing reliance on expensive inert environments. The modules have passed all IEC 61215 reliability tests, crucial for ensuring durability under environmental stress. However, independent verification and long-term outdoor performance data are still required for full assessment.
