GIZ Issues Tender for Solar Agro-Processing Systems in Uganda

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is inviting bids for the installation of eight solar-powered agro-processing systems across four sites in Uganda. The project is part of the Energising Development (EnDev) Uganda programme and targets rural micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by promoting solar energy for processing agricultural products such as maize and rice.
Selected sites include Bumalema Traders Ltd, Bugiri Crop Kings Ltd, Youth for Life Tree Planting, and Dhero Group Ltd. The installation will feature four hullers, three large mills, and one micro hammer mill, enhancing processing capabilities.
Contractors must provide a two-year warranty and practical training for operators. Bids must be submitted electronically by August 25, 2026.
