Aegis Aerospace Inc. has partnered with United Semiconductors LLC to establish the world's first in-space advanced materials manufacturing facility. This initiative follows a grant agreement with the Texas Space Commission to develop a manufacturing platform for advanced materials in low Earth orbit (LEO).

The Aegis Advanced Materials Manufacturing Platform (AMMP) aims to utilize the microgravity environment of LEO for semiconductor manufacturing. The collaboration leverages United Semiconductors' expertise as a provider to the U.S.

Department of Defense, aiming to commercialize in-space manufacturing and create job opportunities in Texas. This facility is expected to be the first dedicated commercial site for in-space materials production.
