Aero Vodochody Promotes L-39 Skyfox to Air Forces in Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda
Aero Vodochody has promoted the L-39 Skyfox to air forces in Nigeria, Ghana, and Uganda, showcasing the aircraft's capabilities with demonstrations and briefings throughout December. The L-39NG, an advanced version of the L-39 Albatros, features improved range and performance, with serial production commencing in late 2022. The company is also seeking additional contracts in Europe, Asia, and Africa, with Algeria considering a potential order for up to 18 units.

Aero Vodochody showcased the L-39 Skyfox to several African air forces, including Uganda, Ghana, and Nigeria. The aircraft was inspected by Uganda's Chief of Defence Forces on December 1 and demonstrated to the Ghana Air Force on December 17.
Previous procurement efforts in Ghana and Senegal faced funding issues. The L-39NG, an advanced version of the L-39 Albatros, was developed from 2014, with serial production starting in December 2022. The aircraft features a single engine, increased range, and enhanced capabilities.
Aero Vodochody has delivered L-39 Skyfox to Vietnam, the Czech Republic, and Hungary and is pursuing additional contracts in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Nigeria's Air Force received a technical briefing on the aircraft on December 30, and Algeria is reportedly considering acquiring up to 18 units.
