Aerospace Industrial Development Corp. (AIDC) has partnered with six universities to implement smart measurement and real-time monitoring systems in its aerospace production lines. This initiative, supported by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, aims to integrate university-developed smart manufacturing technologies such as 5G, IoT, digital transformation, and cloud services into the manufacturing sector.

The new systems enable machines to conduct pre-production equipment checks, monitor processing conditions, and automatically adjust operations or issue alerts to reduce costs associated with material waste and processing errors. AIDC has also developed a smart management system utilizing IoT and big data to connect factory machines, which has been applied to both Air Force trainer aircraft production and fighter jet upgrades.
