AeroVironment Acquires ESAero for $200 Million to Enhance UAS Engineering and Manufacturing

AeroVironment is acquiring Empirical Systems Aerospace (ESAero) for about $200 million. ESAero, based in San Luis Obispo, California, specializes in uncrewed aerial systems and advanced aerospace technologies.

Following the acquisition, ESAero will operate as a subsidiary under AeroVironment's Precision Strike and Defense Systems group. The integration aims to improve manufacturing capabilities and establish ESAero as a center for advanced prototyping. This acquisition follows AeroVironment's earlier purchase of BlueHalo for $4.1 billion.
