AeroVironment Inc. has launched the Mission Specialist Wraith, a new unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) designed for demanding subsea operations. The Wraith features six-degree-of-freedom maneuverability with 10 vectored thrusters, enabling it to maintain stability and control in challenging environments.

It supports a variety of payloads, including imaging and navigation tools, making it suitable for inspection, defense, and scientific missions. The platform offers up to 80 pounds of forward thrust, facilitating rapid transit and precise station-keeping. The Expeditionary configuration is the first in a series of planned developments aimed at enhancing depth capability, payload capacity, and system flexibility.
