Africa's Renewable Energy Investments: 300 MW Solar, 660 MWh Storage, and Mining Projects
Africa is advancing its renewable energy landscape with several key projects, including 300 MW of solar capacity and 660 MWh of battery storage. These initiatives aim to enhance energy security, lower emissions, and support sustainable industrial growth across multiple countries.

Africa's renewable energy projects include a 300 MW solar and 660 MWh battery storage facility in South Africa, set to enhance grid stability and provide dispatchable electricity for industrial clients. Meanwhile, TotalEnergies has integrated solar systems at 154 fuel stations in Kenya, covering over half of its network to reduce costs and emissions.
Greenco's initiative in the DRC targets mining customers, aiming to replace diesel generators with solar solutions. The Green Sharm initiative in Egypt has completed 50 projects, reducing emissions by 85,100 tonnes and increasing renewable capacity to 55 MW.
Zimbabwe is investing in 185 MW of solar power to strengthen its mining sector while addressing energy shortages. These developments are pivotal in Africa's transition to a low-carbon economy.
