AFSOC Financial Management Director Jeff DeCocker Retires After 38 Years of Service
Jeff DeCocker, the director of financial management and comptroller for Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC), is retiring after 38 years of federal service. He began his career in 1987 at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico, and later worked as a computer systems analyst at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.
DeCocker joined AFSOC's financial management team in October 1991, becoming one of the first personnel assigned to the command. Throughout his career, he secured resources for AFSOC and witnessed changes in operations, particularly in gunship employment and counterterrorism requirements.
DeCocker emphasized the ongoing need for special operations forces and the importance of adapting to future strategic demands. He expressed gratitude for the Air Commandos and his commitment to mentoring future leaders.
