AFSOC introduced the Block II OA-1K Skyraider II aircraft, enhancing rapid deployment capabilities for special operations. This variant emphasizes modularity and adaptability for various missions, set to improve operational flexibility and response times.

The US Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) unveiled the Block II variant of the OA-1K Skyraider II at SOF Week in Tampa. This model enhances rapid deployment capabilities, allowing for quick disassembly and reassembly, enabling fast response to global crises.
AFSOC aims to acquire a total of 62 OA-1K aircraft from L3Harris Technologies, following a reduction from the original order of 75 due to a GAO report. The aircraft supports multiple mission profiles, including armed overwatch and intelligence operations. AFSOC plans to validate the Block II's capabilities in upcoming operational tests, ensuring effective support in non-permissive environments.
