A response to this skills crisis includes the adoption of technologies such as AI, cobots, and augmented reality (AR) training.
AR training has shown to increase certification rates by 34% while reducing training time by 56%. Collaborative robots are enhancing productivity by up to four times while maintaining job positions. K-TIG technology, a high-speed welding method, is gaining traction for its efficiency and is utilized by major firms like GE and Siemens. The integration of these technologies is critical for Australia to remain competitive globally amidst rising quality standards and complex project demands.
