Airbus Expands Defense and Space Partnerships in Malaysia at DSA-Natsec Asia 2026
Airbus is enhancing its defense and space capabilities in Malaysia with new partnerships worth over RM1.5 billion annually. This expansion supports local job creation and aligns with Malaysia's National Defence Industry Policy.

Airbus plans to sign multiple memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with Boustead Holdings Bhd, Airod Sdn Bhd, and Global Turbine Asia Sdn Bhd during the DSA and Natsec Asia 2026 exhibitions. These agreements aim to bolster local skills and enhance technical capabilities in the defense and space sectors.
Currently, Airbus holds approximately 40 to 45 percent market share in the civil helicopter segment in the Asia-Pacific region, while its military helicopter share is around 15 percent. The company has maintained a strategic partnership with Malaysia for over 40 years, with a procurement value exceeding RM1.5 billion annually, supporting around 5,000 jobs. This collaboration may strengthen Airbus's position amid evolving geopolitical dynamics in the region.
